Studies on the Evidence on the Evolving role of china in Africa’s Agricultural Economy

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has commissioned the East African Research Capacity Development Foundation (EARCDF) to conduct a series of pilot studies under the umbrella “Studies on the Evidence on the Evolving Role of China in Africa’s Agricultural Economy”. These studies aim at mapping and analyzing the Africa-China agricultural economic ties. Invariably, they should generate research-based evidence and inform the design of policies and strategies to foster friendly, mutually beneficial, and sustainable Africa-China ties.

The pilot phase of the study will be conducted in three countries and two African Regional Economic Communities, i.e., China, Côte d’Ivoire, Tanzania, East African Community (EAC), and Economic Commission for West African States (ECOWAS), respectively. From 6th to 10th April 2016 the first pilot phase of the study will be conducted in China.
